When the weather’s great, which it invariably is for one activity or the other, you can head for Potter Heigham.  It’s one of the gateways to the Norfolk Broads.

There’s a marina where you can hire motorised canal boats by the hour or by the day - return by 17:00hrs.


There are cafes and a fish & chip shop, so plenty of places to get fed and watered.  It gets very busy in the height of the season, but people still seem to be able to find parking spaces OK.

Of course it’s home to the fabled department store called Latham’s.  Starting as a one-shed effort in the 1960’s, it’s now expanded to four large sheds.  It’s like a huge jumble sale where you just might be able to find a bargain.
